What the numbers say
Close on protein, apart on calories. Quest is 19 g for 140 calories a bag; Legendary is 20 g for 160. Legendary's extra gram comes with 20 extra calories, which is why Quest scores higher.
Both beat most bars. Quest's chips score higher than 28 of the 36 bars we track, and Legendary's higher than 24. Flavor doesn't matter within either line: all 4 Quest flavors and all 5 Legendary flavors share the same numbers.
Price and bag size. We recorded Legendary at $3.57 a bag (brand-site 7-pack), or $1.78 per 10 g of protein. We don't have a Quest chip price yet. Quest lists a 32 g bag (59.4 g of protein per 100 g); Legendary lists "1 bag" without a weight, so we can't compare density.
Which one should you pick?
- Calories are your budget: Quest Tortilla Style Protein Chips (13.6 g protein per 100 calories).
- Most protein in one serving: Legendary Foods Popped Protein Chips (20 g).
- Price: we've only confirmed a price for Legendary Foods Popped Protein Chips ($3.57 a serving, $1.78 per 10 g of protein), so we can't call a value winner yet.
