How we make money

The Protein Drop is free to use. We may earn money in three ways:

• Affiliate links. If you click a link marked "(paid link)" and buy something, the retailer or brand may pay us a commission. Your price is the same.
• Sponsored placements. Paid spots on the site or in the newsletter are always labeled "Sponsored".
• Newsletter sponsors. Sponsor slots in the weekly email are clearly labeled.

Rankings are never for sale. The leaderboard is sorted by numbers from each product's published label (protein per 100 calories, price per serving). Whether a product has an affiliate link, or whether a brand pays us, never changes its rank or its numbers. Products without an affiliate program are listed the same way.

Privacy

• No accounts. You don't need to sign up to use the leaderboard.
• Taste votes are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). They aren't sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
• Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email is handled by our newsletter provider, beehiiv, under its privacy policy. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Cookies and affiliate tracking. We don't set our own tracking cookies. When you click an affiliate ("paid link") link, the retailer or affiliate network may set cookies to credit the referral, under their own privacy policies. The newsletter signup form is loaded from beehiiv, which may also set cookies.
• Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may log standard technical data such as IP address for security and performance.
