Verdict: Quest wins narrowly, and it's close. Classic Quest bars score 10.5–11.8; Pure Protein bars 10.0–10.6. Averaged across the flavors we track, that's 11.1 for Quest vs 10.4 for Pure Protein.

Flavors included (same label numbers unless the table shows a range):

Where the prices come from (one-time snapshots, per serving at that pack size, not store shelf prices): Quest Protein Bar – Pumpkin Pie (seasonal): $35.49 for 12-ct carton on brand site.

What the numbers say

The best and worst flavors overlap. Quest's best, Quest Protein Bar – Double Chocolate Chunk (170 calories, 11.8), beats every Pure Protein bar. But Quest's weakest flavor, Quest Protein Bar – Chocolate Peanut Butter (10.5), ties several Pure Protein flavors. The flavor you pick matters about as much as the brand.

Pure Protein is denser; Quest is leaner per calorie. Pure Protein bars are listed at 50 g and Quest bars at 60 g, with about the same protein. That's 40.0 g of protein per 100 g for most Pure Protein flavors vs 33.3 g for most Quest flavors. Quest's edge comes from fewer calories per gram of protein, not a heavier bar.

Highest-calorie bar here: Pure Protein Protein Bar – Lemon Cake at 200 calories (10.0). We have a brand-site price for only one Quest flavor (Pumpkin Pie, $2.96) and none for Pure Protein, so there's no value verdict yet.

Caveats

Pure Protein's AMMMAZE bar (Pure Protein AMMMAZE Protein Bar – Blackout Cake, 9.1) is a different product line and isn't included here. Serving sizes differ between products, so compare the protein and calories, not the package.
